Privacy and data Last updated: 12 February 2025

What we collect when you write to us about a class

Dancing the Invisible is a small organisation, and so is the amount of information we keep. When you use the form on the contact page, the fields you fill in are the ones we receive. Nothing else is asked of you, and no account is created.

Form data

Name, email, phone and your message

If you send a question about a drop-in session, a five-class card, a six-week block or a weekend jam in Toronto or Montreal, we receive the name you type, your email address, an optional phone number and the text of your message. We use them to read your question and answer it. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your details to anyone for marketing.

Technical data

Device, browser and basic analytics events

Like most small websites, ours records limited technical information when a page loads: browser type, device category, approximate region and which pages were viewed. This is aggregate information used to understand whether people find the class and workshop pages they are looking for. It is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies

Small files that keep the site working

The site may set cookies for basic function and for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them may affect how parts of the site behave, but it will not stop you from reading about the programme or contacting us by email or phone.

Processors

Hosting, form handling and analytics providers

We rely on third-party services to host the site, to deliver form submissions to us and to measure traffic. These providers process data on our behalf and only for those purposes. Some of them may store data outside Canada, including in the United States or the European Union, under their own safeguards.

Retention

How long messages stay with us

Enquiries are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you and for keeping a simple record of the conversation. When they are no longer needed, they are deleted. Aggregate analytics data may be retained longer because it does not identify anyone.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion and withdrawal

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw any consent you gave earlier. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California residents may request disclosure or deletion under the CCPA. Write to us and we will act on the request.

No misleading claims

What this site does not promise

We describe classes, jams and intensives as they are run, and we do not claim official affiliation with any other studio, festival or institution. There are no fake endorsements, no invented urgency and no guaranteed outcomes from taking part. Dance training depends on your own body, your week and your attention, and we would rather say that plainly than sell something else.

Contact

Where to send a privacy question

For anything related to this policy, write to info@dancingtheinvisible.com, call 380.293.7628, or send post to Toronto, 553 Mac Radial. You can also use the form on the contact page. If you would like to read how the site is used in general, the terms page covers that ground.

Reaching the studio

Questions about a class, a jam or a weekend intensive usually come up before anyone signs up, and that is fine. Write to us about the format you are considering, the studio location you can reach, or what a first session actually looks like. We answer from the same inbox that runs the schedule, so expect a real reply rather than an automated one.

Cookie settings

We use cookies to keep the site reliable, remember basic choices, and understand which pages are useful. You can accept, reject, or review the settings before continuing.
